US26, from New York Yacht Club was designed by Olin Stephens at Sparkman & Stephens. The boat has been built in City Island , NY by Minneford Yacht Yard and was launched june 1974. The skipper Ted Hood on Courageous easily beat the Australian Challenger Southern Cross. This was Olin Stephen's fifth success in the Cup since 1958.
